Last week, MDB`s Tony and John joined @rochabitat for their Leaders Build Day in Rochester`s 19th Ward neighborhood!
Our team rolled up their sleeves and helped install waterproofing along the foundation walls of a new home, contributing to an important step in the construction process.
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity to get involved and give back to our community. We`re grateful to be part of such a great initiative!

We recently joined the Bright Flite and Maguire Properties teams, local officials, family, and friends to officially break ground on the new Bright Flite facility.
The event celebrated the start of an exciting project and the collaboration that has helped bring the vision to this point. Local officials also recognized Bright Flite and Maguire Properties with awards honoring the project and its anticipated impact on the community.
With the ceremonial shovels in the ground, we’re excited to continue bringing Bright Flite to life through design, construction, and plenty of teamwork along the way.

Progress continues from the ground up at Bright Flite!
Below-grade masonry foundation walls are taking shape, marking another important step as the building begins to come out of the ground. Flower City Masonry has been hard at work completing the masonry that will support the next phases of construction.

A clear view of @wealth.enhancement’s new office space! 👏
These new offices feature glazed walls and doors from @crlaurence, installed by @frontierglassinc, bringing a clean, modern look to the workspace while allowing natural light to flow throughout the interior.
Details like these help create private, functional workspaces without sacrificing the open and collaborative feel of the overall office.

It’s all in the details as we put the finishing touches on @willowcenterny`s newly renovated office space!
One feature bringing both function and visual interest to the space is the @usgcorp Colortex™ Fins acoustical ceiling system. The dimensional felt fins add texture and depth overhead while helping improve the acoustical performance of the space—a great example of design working beyond aesthetics.
As this project nears completion, details like these are bringing the overall design together and helping create a comfortable, polished workplace for the Willow team.

As Construction Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to recognize everyone who plays a part in bringing a project from an idea to reality.
A jobsite meeting like this may capture only a few people at one moment in time, but behind every project is a much larger team. Owners, designers, engineers, project managers, superintendents, skilled tradespeople, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, inspectors, and many others each contribute their expertise along the way.
Throughout this week, we’ve highlighted just a few pieces of that process—from the planning and coordination behind foundation work, to construction within active facilities, to crews working through the challenges of a Western New York winter.
Every project brings different challenges, and no single person or company makes it happen alone. It takes communication, craftsmanship, problem-solving, adaptability, and, most importantly, teamwork.
Construction Appreciation Week may give us a reason to put an extra spotlight on the people behind the work, but our appreciation extends throughout the year.
Thank you to our team, our trade partners, our clients, and everyone we have the opportunity to build alongside.

Construction in Western New York doesn’t always come with ideal conditions.
This winter footage from the @mcclurg_autogroup project is a reminder of the dedication it takes to keep a project moving through changing weather and challenging site conditions. Snow, cold temperatures, material deliveries, equipment operation, and day-to-day coordination all become part of getting the job done.
It takes skilled tradespeople, field supervision, project management, and a long list of partners working together and adapting as conditions change.
During Construction Appreciation Week, we’re especially grateful for the people in the field who show up, solve problems, and continue turning plans into progress—no matter what Western New York weather brings their way.

A finished building may be what everyone sees, but there’s a tremendous amount of work that happens before it begins taking shape above ground.
Foundation work at the new Bright Flite facility for Maguire Family Properties in Victor is a great example. Excavation, underground utilities, foundations, site work, equipment, deliveries, and multiple trades all need to be carefully planned and coordinated to keep the project moving forward.
It takes everyone working together—from the teams developing the plans to the crews executing them in the field—to turn lines on a drawing into a building.
For Construction Appreciation Week, we’re recognizing all the planning, coordination, and hard work that happens below the surface and sets the stage for everything that follows.

Please join us in welcoming Dylan Schmitt to the MDB team!
Dylan first joined MDB through the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, gaining valuable experience with our team while transitioning from military service. We’re excited to now officially welcome him aboard as an Assistant Project Manager!
Dylan will begin his new role with a Field Training Rotation, giving him hands-on experience with how our projects come together in the field. During this development period, he’ll work alongside our construction teams to build practical knowledge of project planning, coordination, documentation, and day-to-day field operations before transitioning into a primarily office-based Assistant Project Manager role.
This experience will give Dylan a strong foundation and a firsthand understanding of the connection between the field and office—an important part of how we approach projects at MDB.
Welcome to the team, Dylan! We’re excited to have you with us and look forward to seeing you grow in your new role.
